Notes from the past…

Welcome to Ruth’s Genealogy! This blog began as Bluebonnet Country Genealogy in 2006. At that time, I had only begun researching my family history and as I live in Texas, Texas is where my research began. Hence the title Bluebonnet Country Genealogy.

Fast-forward to today: I have located and studied my American ancestors from almost every Southern state, several Western states and even one Northern state. My RootsMagic database now contains over 700 documented individuals. So the title Bluebonnet Country Genealogy no longer seemed appropriate.

Major surnames include Hall, McBurnett, Carr, Carroll, Stanley, Turner, Rogers, Bennett, Kennedy, Carrico and Vance.

A few details: this blog’s top menu contains several links.

  • Photo/Documents- images associated with my research, organized by surname.
  • WorldConnect database- my genealogy database, displayed at RootsWeb’s WorldConnect site.
  • Cemeteries- inventories and headstone photos from two “adopted” cemeteries in rural Hill County, Texas. Several of my ancestors rest at these locations.
  • Diigo Favorites- bookmarks for my favorite online genealogy sites

Again, welcome to Ruth’s Genealogy!
