Genealogy society members are a vital part of the family history community. We’ve made many acquaintances this way and we all benefit from their friendship, support and expertise. Share with us a genealogy society member that has left a memorable impression on you.
I don’t currently belong to a genealogical society (yet!), but there is one local society member who has impressed me immensely with his tireless work on behalf of the Fort Worth Genealogical Society and Texas genealogy in general.
Rob Yoder is currently the Society’s 3rd Vice President and the editor of Footsprints, The Quarterly Journal of FWGS, and is also one of the two county coordinators for the Tarrant County, Texas GenWeb site. Rob was instrumental in creating the Texas Marriage Collections of FWGS . And he has recently compiled the Footprints Topical Index 1957-2012.

52 Weeks of Abundant Genealogy by Amy Coffin is a series of weekly blogging prompts (one for each week of 2012) that invite genealogists and others to discuss resources in the genealogy community including websites, applications, libraries, archives, genealogical societies and more. You do not have to be a blogger to participate. If you do not have a genealogy blog, write down your thoughts on your computer, or simply record them on paper and keep them with your files.
