I recently volunteered as a FamilySearch indexer and I have been working on Texas Deaths, 1890-1976.
These documents are so interesting! As a genealogist with a nursing background, I am simply fascinated as I read these death certificates. So many of the illness and accidents that killed people 80-1oo years ago are easily survivable today.
But no all…
This morning I indexed the death certificate of a man who died in a Temple, Texas hospital in 1922. On a whim, I decided to check GenealogyBank for a newspaper mention of the incident that lead to this man’s death.
Here from the 8 Aug 1922 edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:
“Wrongful death”*
