My 4GGF John Hamilton, Jr’s headstone (actually two headstones) indicates his date of death to be 24 July 1860 (click on images to enlarge):
Just one problem with that date…
The 1860 Federal Census for Travis County, Texas, shows John, apparently alive, enumerated on 26 July 1860.

How does that line go — The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
