Ruth's Genealogy

“And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”

Reviewed/updated several small (living relatives) files, also deleted a few folks from my database. These folks were kin of married-into-the-family folks (ex: my uncle’s parents) who really shouldn’t have been in my database to begin with. A couple others got skipped altogether, for now. This numbering system works pretty well for the most part, but occasionally people pop up in an inconvenient place. I’ll pick these folks up later when I get to their parents.

So now I’m up to Ancestor #74, Isaac Turner, my second great-grandfather. Isaac is a very interesting guy, and I actually have quite a lot of data on him, including his Civil War Pension File.

I’d like to do something a little different with Isaac and his pension file. I had previously created a pdf e-book, but I’d like something a little fancier that I can add to a specially-created page here on my blog. Something “Web 2.0″-ish. Something like what footnoteMaven has done with her Shades magazine, which I absolutely love! More to come…
