Mom's violin

My Mom played the violin as a child, although I never heard her play it. Still, it was always a very valued possession. I’m ashamed to say that I  really don’t know the whole story behind this violin, if there even is a story. As we are all getting together this weekend to celebrate my grandmother’s 93rd birthday, I plan to get the details from my grandmother and my aunt, Mom’s closest living contemporaries.

In the 2nd photo, my Mom is in the top row, far right. This is from about 1950, my Mom looks to be about 15.

My brother now has possession of the violin, which is certainly fitting, as he is a musician!
