Notes from the past…

It's contagious!

Thanks, Randy! You seem to have started an epidemic!

Denise and The footnoteMaven have infected me, too! Ok, let me grab some Kleenex and begin!

** 10 years ago I:

  • had a different, much less stressful, much smaller paycheck job
  • was living in a different town (close by)
  • had a 20-month-old granddaughter who I absolutely adored! (now she’s 11 and I still absolutely adore her!)
  • didn’t talk to or appreciate my Mom enough (Mom died Feb 18, 1999 of pancreatic cancer at age 63. Love and Miss You, Mom!)
  • wasn’t the slightest bit interested in Genealogy

** 5 things on today’s “to-do” list:

  • respond to this meme
  • take my absolutely adored granddaughter to a Haunted House tonight
  • clean my carpet- the Neat-Freak in me outa control!
  • find a “Video Killed The Radio Star” ringtone for my phone
  • enjoy my day off

** 5 snacks I enjoy:

  • Dr Pepper
  • Dr Pepper
  • Dr Pepper
  • Dr Pepper
  • Yogurt (washed down with Dr Pepper)

** 5 Places I have lived:

  • Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • Fort Worth, Texas
  • Mineral Springs, Arkansas
  • Seguin, Texas
  • Canon City, Colorado

** 5 Jobs I have had:

  • Pharmacy Clerk, Eckerd’s, Seguin, Texas (my first job xoxoxo!)
  • Nurses Aide
  • LPN/LVN (Arkansas, Colorado, Texas)
  • RN (Texas)
  • Restaurant Assistant Manager (totally burned out with nursing)

Now, rather than infect anyone else and risk a visit from the CDC, I have quarantined myself (after a quick trip to Sonic for a “snack”). :)

I'm still here

I haven’t been posting much or doing much reseach in the past few weeks. There have been some other, non-genealogy things been going on in my life of late, and there’s just not enough hours in the day, it seems! But I have been reading my Google Reader every day, and I’m trying to keep up with our oh-so-active geneablogger community, be it from afar. I hope to soon be back in the thick of things!

Great job, Terry!

Terry Thornton over at Hill Country of Monroe County, Mississippi recently posted the results of his Getting to Know You, Getting to Know All About You challenge. I have been really surprised that I haven’t read much about Terry’s Herculian efforts and the wonderful job he did with presenting this introduction/overveiw of so many genealogy blogs and bloggers! Personally, I think Terry is amazing! I can’t imagine the amount of time and work he put into this little project, and I really want to thank him for a job well done! Most of the blogs I already subscribe to, but several were new to me, and now I have an even longer list to read each day! There is so much incredible help and great information that these blogs offer, and my Google Reader is one of my major research tools!

Again…Thank You, Terry!
