A technical problem…RESOLVED!

I have been trying to figure out how to safeguard my Mom’s red photo album. It’s at least 50 years old and most of the photos are either stuck in place or taped in place, so removing them to another “archive”-type album is out of the question. The pages are about 12″x12″, so they are too big for my scanner. So I am resolved to scanning each image individually and then creating a “virtual” photo album of the same size and then adding the scanned images in the original configuration as the red album. (I’m too cheap to go to Kinko’s! :) ) Yesterday I hunted around the ‘Net to find a program that would create my virtual album. I settled on Picasa and promptly tried to download it…

SLAM! A messaged popped up in Firefox’s Downloads Manager telling me I couldn’t download it, probably because it was a .exe file. How rude! I know, I know, malicious code and all that stuff. But I’m careful with my downloads and have never brought any critters into my computer.

So, I started trying to figure out how to change the security set-up. About 3 hours later and still no Picasa! Then I sent a message to Denise of Family Matters. When I checked my email this morning, Denise had sent me an email, and in about 5 minutes my problem was solved and Picasa was busy setting up housekeeping on my hard drive. Thank you, Denise!
