I am in the process of rescanning all of the images in my Mom’s file, to add to my RootsMagic database. Finicky that I am, the images that transferred over from my other programs seem a bit fuzzy to me, and I want everything to be just right…

Adventures in RootsMagic
About a week ago, I downloaded RootsMagic as my choice of genealogy database programs to use from now on. In doing so, I decided to go back to the “beginning” of my database (me and my immediate family, most of whom are still living), and make a few changes.
As many of the images did not transfer over from my other genealogy programs, I was faced with a dilemma. I decided that with living family members that I would not add any images to their databases. I still have all of the images on my hard drive in my surname folders, they just won’t be in the RootsMagic database.
So the nearest person to me who is no longer living is my Mom, so that’s where I started. It took a little time to figure out the source citation system in RootsMagic, and there were a few items that appeared on the written reports that I didn’t want and couldn’t figure out how to get rid of. But after consulting with RootsMagic guru Bruce Buzbee, who replied to my question in record time, that problem was easily resolved.
An interesting item
